| 概要 | The goal of this presentation will be to offer a brief history of signed language linguistics with special relevance to documentation of Japanese Sign Language. We will cover the basics of the linguistic structure of signed languages, writing and notating signed languages, and the special sociolinguistic and cultural issues of working within the deaf community. |

| 概要 | The goal of this tutorial is to give an overview of the basic data, approaches, and results in the formal semantics of Japanese tense and aspect. For the sake of coherence we will stick to one particular theoretical framework, contrasting it with alternatives where appropriate. We will start with fundamentals (basic notions and distinctions; the formal framework for the analysis), then work our way in several stages through Japanese data of increasing complexity. |
