- By bus
The bus would be the easiest, as you can come to Tachikawa in one go. We recommend this especially if you aren't familiar with the train system in Tokyo. There is this airport bus that stops, after the airport, at two hotels in Tachikawa (Palace Hotel Tachikawa and Tachikawa Grand Hotel). It takes about 2.5 hours to get to Tachikawa, and it costs 3,500 Yen. They are called Airport Limousine. The timetable can be found on their website.
- By train
Most of the day, you need to change the trains somewhere between the airport station and Tachikawa station. The easiest would be this route where you make one change at Shinjuku or Tokyo station. In this route, you first take Narita Express at Narita Airport, and then take JR Chuo Line at either Shinjuku or Tokyo, which will take you to Tachikawa station.
For other possibilities, the information can be found on this airport website.
