異なる言語の話者がどのように移動事象を言語化するのであろうか。この問題には，ここ30年の間，多くの言語研究者が関心を寄せてきた。このシンポジウムでは，世界の各地で行われてきた研究の成果を比較検討することにより，移動事象の言語化を通して，言語の類型の性質や，言語と認知の関係についてどのようなことが分かるかを探求するものである。

The way speakers of different languages describe motion events has been one of the active research topics over the last three decades. The aim of this conference is to bring together the findings of researches done in different parts of the world to see what this fascinating area of study reveals about the nature of language typology and/or the issues of language and cognition.

発表には，(1) 口頭発表と (2) ポスター発表の2種類があります。応募時に，どちらかを選択してください。
英語または日本語。
発表要旨は，日本語の場合，10ポイントでA4 2枚とします。他に1枚で，データと文献リストを加えても構いません。
英語の場合は12ポイントで，A4 1枚とします。他に1枚で，データと文献リストを加えても構いません。
口頭発表か，ポスター発表か (あるいはどちらでも良いか) を明記すること。
口頭発表は，1件につき30分です。
1) 採用が決定した後で発表者や発表タイトルを変更することはできません。
2) 発表要旨の提出時に，以下に示す応募者情報を別の書類に記入し，添付してください。

The acceptance of abstracts was closed.
Languages of the conference are English/Japanese.
Abstracts are accepted for 30-minute talks or for poster presentations.
The organizing committee welcomes proposals for presentations that suit the purpose of the conference. Applicants are requested to pay attention to the following guidelines:
Deadline for abstracts: November 5, 2014.
Notification of acceptance of abstracts: November 10, 2014.
Only e-mail submission is accepted. Abstract and Author Information (see below) should be addressed to motionsymposium<at>ninjal.ac.jp.
Contact the above e-mail address if you do not receive acknowledgment of receipt within a week.
Applicants may choose either one of two categories: (1) oral presentation or (2) poster presentation.
The language of presentation can be either Japanese or English. Write the abstract in the same language as the one the applicant intends to use for actual presentation.
Each oral presentation will be 30 minutes in length.
Abstract in English should be one page, using 12 point font, plus an extra page for data and references. Abstract in Japanese should be two pages, using 10 point font, plus an extra page for data and references.
Specify the intended form of presentation, i.e., a) talk only, 2) poster only, 3) either talk or poster.

2) Each abstract should be accompanied with a separate sheet of paper that contains "author's information" as specified below.
